                   Mesopotamia Trade and Transport

Mesopotamia was a country where it didn't have many natural resources. So Mesopotamia had to trade with countries beside it like syria and Iran.Mesopotamia traded grains, gasoline  and textiles to forgein countries and the other countries traded timber, wine, precious metals and stones. Merchant's used several ways to transport what they traded depending on the item. For example grain was quite huge and was best transported by boat or precious stones were small so they would be transported by foot or donkey.

mesopotamian money

                               Mesopotamian Money

Mesopotamian money was made with paper but they also had coins. Paper money was very symbolic because paper was not used for anything else. Paper was also a form of monitry because of the use of paper and ink. Coins had a symbol of a person and any kind of animal. It was valued what it was made of. The coins were made of gold, silver, and bronze. The coins were priced with what it was made out of for example if I bought a sheep for 10 dollars it would be called10 silver coins. Anything 5 and under is braze coins, anything 10 - 20 is silver , and finally if anything is 20 and up is gold coins are used.
